What to do
- Distance yourself from that person. That means no facebook stalking (which is pathetic by the way), no calls, no texts, no mails, no visiting places she/he might visit.
- Put away all things that remind you of her/him. You could also destroy, burn or throw them which might make you feel better.
- Get out with friends, go to the gym, do whatever to keep busy.
- Watch a romantic movie. As stupid as this idea sounds, it is actually a very good idea, since in most movies the main character finds love again. You might want to check the movie trailer tho.
What NOT to do
- Do not interact with her/him in any way. Make sure you avoid places she/him might visit. As a reference you might want to do this for a couple of weeks at least depending on how much the breakup affected you.
- Do not rush in another relationship. It is very common to feel you want to revenge if you are the dumpee and "show him". These "rebound" relationships don't last.
- Do not stay inside and do nothing. Keep yourself busy.
- Do not keep stuff that reminds you of her/him.
